S. Korean Internet Paper Flays Authorities for Making Inter-Korean Dialogue Abortive
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean internet paper Voice of People on June 13 carried an editorial titled "Do we have to spend another five years like this?"

The editorial condemned the regime for being keen on inventing logic to shift the responsibility for the failed talks between the authorities of the south and the north on to the north side, far from drawing lessons and taking steps.

It also accused the Ministry of Unification and Chongwadae of talking rhetoric that "the south-north relations should be established to the international standard" and "the level of the dialogue partner is part that makes up an important principle of the south-north dialogue." It went on:

It was crystal clear to the chief executive and experts in dialogue that if a vice-minister of Unification is appointed as chief delegate based on the logic of "level", such talks will prove failure.

This notwithstanding, the authorities appointed a vice-minister as chief delegate to the talks, an action meant not to hold talks.

It is a pity that the authorities, which called for what they say "trust-building process", tabled the issue of "level" of dialogue partner.

If such wrong buttoning up that has been done as for the south-north dialogue happens again under the new regime, there is looming danger by which the nation may face another five years like those under the Lee Myung Bak regime.

Saying that it is necessary for the present chief executive to pay attention to the opinion of the people from all walks of life and understand what went wrong, the editorial noted that unless a lesson is drawn from the failed talks, another five years will be spent meaninglessly, leaving a stain in history.
