S. Korean "Government" Accused of Defying People's Desire
Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Youth Solidarity issued a statement titled "Park Geun Hye regime should open south-north authorities talks and ensure south-north joint events" on June 13.

The statement said that the talks between the authorities of the north and the south proved abortive, blocking the phase of dialogue.

It accused the Park Geun Hye regime of defying the desire of the people to see the danger of a war removed from the Korean Peninsula and peace realized there.

Many people who pinned hope on long-awaited dialogue are expressing regret at the abortion of the talks and businessmen and separated families, in particular, are weeping tears of despair, it noted.

It condemned Chongwadae and the conservative media, which cried out for "strong attitude" even before the working contact, for passing the buck for the abortion of the talks to the north.

But as many experts noted, the Park Geun Hye regime is to blame for the abortion as it has not renounced its hostile policy toward the north, its dialogue partner, the statement held.

The south side unilaterally designated the head of the delegation to the talks contrary to the common usage, not recognizing the staff rules for allotting duties of the north side which differ from that of the south side, it charged. This cannot be construed otherwise than an act of ignoring the dialogue partner and revealing its intent not to hold dialogue.

It urged the regime to approach dialogue regardless of the past argument.

It also called on the regime to open the talks at an early date and ensure the south-north joint events and thus make a step forward toward peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
