Present at the event were Ju Yong Il and Ko Tae Chun who are chairman and vice-chairman of the "Old Men" Association for Korean Cultural Tradition in Uzbekistan, heads of art troupes of Korean compatriots and more than 200 Koreans.

Present there on invitation were the charge d'affaires ad interim and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Tashkent.

Ju Yong Il in his speech said that the June 15 joint declaration provided by General Secretary Kim Jong Il is important guidelines of the struggle for national reunification.

Signal events took place in the struggle to improve the inter-Korean relations and achieve the reunification of the country in the course of implementing the joint declaration which reflected the spirit of "By our nation itself", he noted.

In the June 15 era of reunification the compatriots keenly realized that to implement the joint declaration is the way of reunifying the country and achieving the prosperity of the Korean nation, he said.

He called upon overseas Koreans to know well about the vitality of the joint declaration, rise up as one in the efforts to implement it and thus make contribution to the patriotic work for national reunification, small as it may be.

He stressed that a bright prospect is set in store for national reunification and the nation thanks to the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Then a performance was given by art troupes of Korean compatriots.
