Action for Wage Hike Staged in S. Korea
|
|
Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a rally in Seoul on June 13 in demand of wage hike. At the rally speakers accused the General Association of Managers of recently turning down the demand of the workers for wage hike under the pretext of business slump. They held that no matter how hard workers work, they get just a petty amount of money with which they can hardly eke out their living. Though the regime changed, there goes on the policy of suppressing and exploiting workers and making big businessmen corpulent, they deplored. They condemned the regime for trying to turn even railways, gas, electricity and other public sectors into a means for increasing the profits of big businessmen. In order to topple the regime, it is necessary for the workers to get united in action, they said, declaring the Confederation of Trade Unions would take the lead in the action for wage hike. |
