June 19 marks the 49th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

He developed the WPK into an invincible party enjoying absolute support and trust from all the Korean people and established the party's leadership system over socialist construction so as to prevent even the slightest deviation and deflection in carrying out the party's line and policies.

In the 1990s, in particular, he led the WPK to reliably preserve the revolutionary principle and stand and invariably advance along the road chosen by itself, instilling conviction of victory into the world progressive parties and anti-imperialist independent forces.

The original Songun politics holds an important position in his political mode.

The Songun politics firmly guarantees peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the DPRK turned into a political and military power, unperturbed by any military provocation and economic blockade by the imperialists despite world political turmoil.

The great feats performed by Kim Jong Il in developing the WPK, advancing the socialist cause and defending peace on the Korean Peninsula will always be remembered by the progressives.
