Ri Ji Ryon and Kim Kum Hyang came first at the 2013 World Short Track Speed Skating Tournament for Development Cup of the International Skating Union (ISU) and Ri Chung Il garnered a gold medal at the International Boxing Tournament named after Konstatin Korotkov.

The DPRK won trophies, top technical prizes and best player prizes, more than 10 in total, in the first half of the year.
