Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- In the Central Zoo here there are chestnut horses of Anglo-Norman breed. They are a gift to General Secretary Kim Jong Il, presented by the deputy director of the Shenyang Agricultural Scientific and Technological Development Centre of China in September Juche 90 (2001). His grandfather was a war veteran, who fought in the Korean War (June 1950-July 1953) as a member of the Chinese People's Volunteers. The deputy director was told by his grandfather about the greatness of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and about the heroic Korean people. Out of reverence for Kim Jong Il, he prepared a pair of two-year-old horses of Anglo-Norman breed for a gift to the leader. The horses, native to France, were 1.6 meters and 1.55 meters in height respectively and 400 kg and 350 kg in weight at that time. They live for 20-25 years. |
