A recent opinion poll conducted among over 500 students of high schools across south Korea said that about 70 percent of respondents answered the June 25 war was a war for invading the north.

As regards this opinion poll, Park Geun Hye told senior secretaries of Chongwadae on June 17 that it was a serious problem indicative of the wrong education in history and such things as distorting truth and history should not be allowed to happen.

She instructed the new "government" to bring the situation under control as such a thing should never be overlooked.

In this connection, the union termed the criticism made by the chief executive of teachers for tampering with history a rash behavior prompted by her misunderstanding of the situation.
