It reviewed the society's activities last year and discussed the orientation of this year's work.

Vice-Chairman of the society Dermot Hudson in his report at the meeting said this year is a very important year for the movement for solidarity with the Korean people.

July 27 marks the 60th anniversary since the Korean people defeated U.S. imperialism in the Fatherland Liberation War, he noted.

The society will send its delegation to the celebrations of the anniversary, he said, adding that the Korean people have recently registered remarkable achievements in socialist construction.

The U.S. imperialists are escalating aggression moves and sanctions to stifle the DPRK, he said, and went on: It is our duty to extend positive solidarity to the Korean people.
