Norodom Rasmey, chairman of the Funcinpec Party of Cambodia, said this on June 17 when meeting with DPRK Ambassador to Cambodia Hong Ki Chol who paid a courtesy call on him.

He recalled with deep emotion that he, together with his father Great King Norodom Sihanouk, visited the DPRK several times and was honored with the audience of President Kim Il Sung. He went on:

The great king could achieve national reconciliation and unity and glorify his life as the father of the Cambodian nation entirely thanks to Kim Il Sung.

Leader Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the great king.

The Funcinpec Party is pleased with the relations with the Workers' Party of Korea developing on good terms.

It is an important task for our generation to continue strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries provided by Norodom Sihanouk and Kim Il Sung.

I am convinced that the friendly relations between the Funcinpec Party and the WPK and between the Cambodian and Korean peoples will be everlasting.

We fully support all policies of the DPRK.

I express belief that the WPK and the Korean people would register greater successes in building a thriving nation under the wise leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.
