The Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea noted this in its statement on June 14, a day before the 13th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Extending firm solidarity to the Korean people, the statement said:

President Kim Il Sung devoted himself to the reunification of the country till the last moments of his life since its division.

Thanks to leader Kim Jong Il who successfully carried forward his cause, the historic north-south joint declaration was adopted on June 15, 2000.

The declaration opened up a road for inter-Korean reconciliation but the U.S. and its satellite forces have desperately moved to hinder its implementation.

The U.S., in particular, is prodding south Korea into steadily ratcheting up tensions in a bid to keep its military bases in south Korea and tighten its control over the Far East and East Asian region.

The world progressives are vehemently denouncing all the moves to block the implementation of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration, hoping that the Korean people would achieve the country's reunification as early as possible as desired by them.

The Korean people are fully determined to invariably advance along the road chosen by them.

No one can break their will to reunify the country.
