Title of DPRK Hero Posthumously Awarded to Former War Writer
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The title of the DPRK Hero was posthumously awarded to Kim Sa Ryang, former war writer.

After the liberation of Korea, he conducted a revolutionary and patriotic literary work under the care of President Kim Il Sung. During the Fatherland Liberation War, he worked as a war writer. When he was surrounded by enemy troops while fighting at a guerrilla unit on Mt. Jiri., he died a heroic death together with his comrades by exploding a bundle of hand grenades with shouts of "Long Live General Kim Il Sung!"

Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un learned about his struggle and made sure that the title of the DPRK hero, the highest honor for a citizen, was posthumously awarded to Kim Sa Ryang and he leads an eternal life with the 60th anniversary of the war victory as an occasion.

An awarding ceremony took place at the April 25 House of Culture on Tuesday.
