Peruvian Political Party, Organization Urge U.S. to Respond to DPRK's Proposal for Dialogue

Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union and the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea issued a joint statement on June 19 in support of the crucial statement of the spokesman for the National Defence Commission (NDC) of the DPRK.

The statement recalled that the NDC in its statement on June 16 clarified the DPRK's principled stand for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and proposed high-level talks with the U.S.

Noting the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula spawned by the U.S. which has resorted to moves against the DPRK for decades, the statement said:

The main architect of the escalated tensions on the peninsula is also the U.S. which runs amuck to provoke a war against the DPRK, having introduced nuclear strike means into south Korea.

The DPRK proposed high-level talks by making a bold decision and showing good faith.

The U.S. will have to take a responsible choice as a main culprit which caused the nuclear issue on the peninsula and has escalated the tensions.

Fully supporting the sincere proposal of the DPRK, we urge the U.S. to respond to it immediately.
