Rodong Sinmun Accuses S. Korean Authorities of Evading Responsibility for Aborted Talks

Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Ryu Kil Jae, south Korean puppet minister of Unification, in a recent special lecture made poor excuses for urging the director of the United Front Department of the north to attend the talks as chief delegate. He talked rubbish that the south side did not take issue with the status and rank of the chief delegate of the north but urged the north side to send a man who can substantially settle the pending issues between the south and the north. A few days later, an official of Chongwadae said something different from Ryu's remarks. This guy asserted that the south side has never put up any precondition as regards south-north dialogue and did not designate a specified man as chief delegate to the talks, blustering that the south side insisted on its assertion because in case the minister of Unification goes to the talks as chief delegate the counterpart should be on the same rank. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: What they uttered only betray the despicable attempt of the puppet group to evade the responsibility for the aborted talks. Facts go to prove that they are working hard to shift the blame for the aborted talks onto the north side at any cost and stoke bitterness toward compatriots and fan up the atmosphere of confrontation with the north in south Korea, the commentary says, and goes on: However, such desperate bid of the south Korean authorities would get them nowhere. There is a limit to the patience of the north side. There is mounting domestic and foreign criticism of Ryu for aborting the talks at the instruction of Chongwadae. Much upset by this, he is now free to let loose a whole string of rhetoric to evade the blame. How miserable and poor Ryu is. The clan of Chongwadae should bear in mind that no one would pay heed to its lies and they would only bring to light its anti-reunification nature. The south Korean authorities had better look back on their wrong doings and repent of them before making poor excuses. |
