U.S. Abuses United Nations in Korean War: News Analyst
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- In a bid to legitimate the Korean War (June 1950 - July 1953), the United States employed the name of the United Nations in inveigling huge forces of satellite states into the war along with its forces. This was a crafty ruse unprecedented in history.

After the end of World War II, the U.S. emerged the boss in the capitalist world, which provided a favorable condition for it to have the UN on the string.

Prior to the Korean War, the U.S. State Department had already worked out a draft resolution for discussion at the UN, in order to sue the DPRK for its alleged "attack". And it even selected a country which would bring this document to the UN.

The department also granted the "UN Commission on Korea" with additional right to oversee "possible conflicts" along the 38th parallel of the Korean Peninsula.

After making such preparations, the U.S. submitted the draft resolution to the UN immediately after launching its invasion of the DPRK.

Yielding to the U.S. pressure, the UN Security Council convened a meeting at 02:00 (local time) on June 25, 1950 and illegally adopted a resolution branding northward invasion as "southward invasion".

U.S. President Truman called senior officials of the State Department and military brasshats at 19:40 (local time) to give an order on shipping munitions and fielding naval and air forces, while MacArthur set in motion the flying corps of Japan-based U.S. 5th Air Force.

As the war situation went against its grain from the outset, the U.S. tried to adjust it by abusing the UN. It pressurized the UN Security Council to call a meeting at 15:00 (local time) on June 27, which led to the adoption of a resolution on rendering "assistance" to south Korea and suggesting dispatch of armed forces of satellite states.

On July 7, it made sure that the UNSC adopted a resolution on organizing U.S.-led "UN Forces" to be dispatched to the Korean War.

In actuality, the "UN resolution" on the Korean War had no legality, for it was adopted in the absence of the Soviet Union, a UNSC permanent member.

But, Truman appointed MacArthur, commander of the U.S. forces in the Far East, as commander of the "UN Forces" on July 8 and set up the "UN Command" on July 25, thus putting the helmets of "UN Forces" on the troops of the U.S. and its 15 satellite states involved in the war

The "UN Command", which has existed up till now as a hurdle to the peace and security of the Korean Peninsula, should be dismantled without delay.
