Changsong, June 26 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of servicepersons, people and school youth and children are visiting the Changgol Revolutionary Site in Changsong County, North Phyongan Province with the approach of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War. The revolutionary site is associated with the immortal history of revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung. In that place he laid down an operational policy for counterattack and wisely led it from late in October to early in November, Juche 39 (1950), the most grave period of the last war. In this place the President set forth the great idea of bringing about a radical turn in the war, outstanding strategic and tactical policies and important tasks for strengthening the Korean People's Army (KPA). In a simple rural house he had meals prepared with coarse grain while taking good care of the living of soldiers of the KPA. Concerned about the difficult living conditions of people, he saw to it that the polished rice which had been reserved as strategic food was distributed among them. The visitors went round the monument to the revolutionary activities of the President and revolutionary relics such as the house where he guided the meeting of the Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the house where he guided meetings of officers and generals of the Supreme Command of the KPA. The visitors posed for a long while before the simple rural house with low roof where there are a table, chair, telephone and bed, and an air-raid shelter, well and other revolutionary relics. |
