Otete Gaston Mboyo, deputy general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Democratic Congo who is chairman of the Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association, said this at an inaugural ceremony of the preparatory committee of Democratic Congo held on June 22 to mark the anniversary.

He went on:

July 27 this year is a significant day marking the 60th anniversary of the heroic Korean people's historic victory in the three-year Fatherland Liberation War fought against the imperialist allied forces headed by U.S. imperialism.

The great victory of the Korean people clearly proved before the world that people who rise up for justice under the leadership of an outstanding leader can surely defeat any formidable enemy.

The victory instilled great conviction and courage into the world people in their struggle for justice and peace against imperialism and colonialism and ushered in a new era of the national liberation struggle against imperialism in Asia, Africa and Latin America, he added.
