Since then, the idea has served as guiding idea in the era of independence.

He decided that in order to work out a correct guiding theory suited to the Korean situation it was necessary to take an independent view of all issues and settle them in an original way suited to the actual conditions of Korea, instead of holding classic works or the experiences of other countries supreme.

Hence, he convened a meeting of leading officials of the Young Communist League and the Anti-imperialist Youth League in Kalun from June 30 to July 2, Juche 19 (1930), at which he made a report entitled "The Path of the Korean Revolution".

In the report he elucidated an idea that the master of the Korean revolution is the Korean people themselves and, therefore, the Korean revolution should be made by the efforts of the Korean people.

The character and tasks of the Korean revolution and the policies of launching an anti-Japanese armed struggle, forming the anti-Japanese national united front and founding a party, advanced at the meeting, were all derived from the Juche idea.

The idea has proved its validity in the whole course of the Korean revolution.

Guided by the Juche idea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has firmly maintained independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in national defense, without vacillation under any vortex of world's situation.

Now the DPRK is making headway along the road of Songun (military-first) under the seasoned leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un with the Juche idea as its guiding idea.
