The spokesman for the North Headquarters of Pomminryon in its statement on July 1 vehemently branded this crackdown as a criminal action of the puppet regime to totally stamp out the righteous activities of the south headquarters, regarding it as a thorn in its flesh as it has been steadfast in its stand on justice, reunification and patriotism and has played a vanguard role in the struggle for implementing the north-south joint declarations and achieving independent reunification.

As recognized by the public at home and abroad, the South Headquarters has regarded it as a programme to positively support and implement the three principles -- independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity -- and the north-south joint declarations and has devotedly worked for their implementation, the statement said, adding:

The south Korean puppet regime is making last-ditch efforts to weather its ruling crisis shaking to its very foundation by diverting elsewhere public criticism through intensified fascist suppression of the South Headquarters and a campaign for eliminating "forces following the north."

No matter how desperately the puppet regime may try, it can never cover up justice and truth and escape the fate of destruction as it is a treacherous regime going against the public mind-set.

The road being covered by Pomminryon is a just and patriotic one along which it paves the path of independent reunification together with all other compatriots at home and abroad. No physical crackdown can ever stop its advance.

The puppet regime should stop at once its fascist suppression of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and unconditionally set free the unreasonably detained pro-reunification figures without delay.
