The participants said that they staged the action as they could not pardon those who committed fraudulent election without hesitation, declaring "they cannot recognize the president produced by the IS".

When riot police suppressed the protesters,　they　loudly shouted "Arrest liar Kim Yong Phan!"

The Ssangyong Motors Branch under the Metal Trade Union took part in the candlelight meeting that day.

Members of civic organizations in the area of Kwangju including the Kwangju Solidarity for Progress and citizens and members of opposition parties held a meeting on the same day before Kwangju Railway Station denouncing the IS.

Speakers called for certainly judging the present regime that seized power by an illegal method and dismantling the IS, a servant of the dictator.

They declared they would struggle against the scandal of the ruling forces with candlelight.

At the end of the meeting, the participants staged a demonstration.
