Plan for Privatizing Railway Service Slammed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations in south Korea including the Chunchon Citizens' Solidarity held a press conference on July 2 demanding the puppet regime retract its plan to privatize the railway service, according to KBS of south Korea.

They charged that a plan to privatize the railway service was lurking behind the "strategy for developing railway industry" announced twice by the Ministry of Land Transport.

They expressed concern that the implementation of the plan would result in the hike of service charge, increase of accidents, etc. and thus seriously damage the public nature of the railway service.
