They included the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, Solidarity for Progress, Committee for Study of Issue of U.S. Forces under the Bar Association for Democratic Society and the Confederation of Trade Unions.

Speakers at the conference charged that the south Korean "government" is known to be obliged to cover 50 percent of the upkeep of the U.S. troops in south Korea, but it is, in fact, covering more than 70 percent of it.

The U.S. is illegally accumulating money collected from the people as taxes and evading the tax payment but the authorities are feigning ignorance of those crimes, they held.

They urged the present regime to drop its attitude of submitting to the U.S. and strongly demanded the abrogation of the sycophantic special agreement on sharing the upkeep of the U.S. forces.
