Remembrance Meeting Held in China

Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- A remembrance meeting was held in China on Friday on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. Present there were family members of Chinese anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs and those related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Present there on invitation were the DPRK ambassador to China and staff members of his embassy. Its participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before portraits of smiling Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and paid tribute. They paid silent tribute to Kim Il Sung. They watched a Korean film dealing with the life of the President in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. Speeches were made by Zhang Jinlu, daughter of Chinese anti-Japanese revolutionary martyr Zhang Weihua, Zhou Wei, daughter of Zhou Baozhong who was related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, and the son of Feng Zhongyun. Recollecting with deep emotion the great loving care shown by the President for them, they highly praised the undying exploits he performed by dedicating himself to the liberation and independence of the country and nation, socialist construction and the cause of national reunification all his life. Saying that he worked heart and soul for the development of the Sino-Korean friendship provided by him together with revolutionaries of the elder generation of China, they stressed that the Chinese people would always remember him as their close friend. Noting that they are pleased with the Korean people successfully carrying out the cause of socialist construction, rallied close around the Workers' Party of Korea headed by the dear respected Kim Jong Un, true to the last instructions of Kim Il Sung, the speakers expressed belief that the Korean people would achieve the grandiose goal of building a thriving nation without fail. |
