Members of the march group held a press conference before the front gate to the project site of the naval base in Kangjong Village, Sogwipho City, Jeju Province on Thursday.

They held that in order to totally prevent a war on this land it is necessary to conclude a peace treaty without fail.

All the Koreans have lived over the 60 years since the ceasefire, longing for peace, they said.

They declared they would go round places still bearing war wounds including Jeju Island, Mt. Jiri and Rogun-ri, Yongdong County, North Chungchong Province and build up the public opinion over the urgency of peace.

They marched in Sogwipho City, chanting slogans "Put an end to the armistice mechanism and conclude a peace treaty!", "We will not live in uneasiness, Conclude a peace treaty!" and "Let Us Defend Kangjong Village!"
