US Accused of Misleading Public Opinion on DPRK
Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- The United States staged nuclear war drills in March and April and joint military exercises with various missions in May, pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the worst phase. Just as it did in June, this month, too, the U.S. is busy with propaganda for building up public opinion to chill the DPRK's positive efforts to open dialogue and ensure peace.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a bylined article observes in this regard:

The propaganda launched by the U.S. reveals that it is nothing but a premeditated campaign to isolate the DPRK to the maximum, blockade against it from all sides and unleash another Korean war.

The U.S. keen to provoke the second Korean War feels afraid of the fact that the positive efforts of the DPRK to hold dialogue may make the situation on the peninsula go quite contrary to its anticipation and seeks to prevent such development.

This is well illustrated by its such remarks as "a step in advance for the denuclearization" and "sincere dialogue".

If the U.S. is interested in ensuring the peace and security on the peninsula even a bit, it should repent of its unjust and illegal actions before making such remarks. The U.S. is, however, oft-repeating such rhetoric.

Quite contrary to the demands for the disbandment of the "UN Command" and the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea reflected in a resolution of the UN General Assembly, the U.S. is using the inauguration of "the Korean War Memorial" aimed at shifting the blame for the war onto the DPRK on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Armistice Agreement as part of the moves to stifle the DPRK.

The U.S. would be well advised to give up a foolish ambition and behave itself.
