Action for Erecting Monument to Victims of Sexual Slavery Staged
Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- An action for erecting the monument to victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army is being staged in Changwon City, South Kyongsang Province, according to Voice of People, an internet paper of south Korea.

The Changwon area preparatory committee for promoting the erection of the monument held a press conference at the Changwon City Office on July 4, calling on people to turn out in the campaign for this.

The bitter grudge of those victims has not yet been settled since the liberation of Korea, they said, declaring they would expose abuses of women's rights and work hard so that such miserable history might not repeat itself.

They stressed that they would erect the monument to honor the memory of victims and struggle against all sorts of violence, discrimination and exploitation of women and the weak.
