Rodong Sinmun Calls for Creating Conditions for Lasting Peace

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- It is necessary to create conditions and circumstances for ensuring lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun in a bylined article on Wednesday. It goes on: The U.S. and its allies are working hard to brand the DPRK as a harasser of peace in a bid to justify their anti-DPRK moves and attain their sinister aim. But such a base method can never work in today's bright world. The U.S. has pulled up the DPRK over its nuclear deterrence, claiming that the world peace is being threatened by the DPRK. It is, indeed, a far-fetched assertion. The real criminal who disturbs the world peace is none other than the U.S. What the U.S. seeks in continuously staging the largest-ever joint military exercises and increasing the frequency and intensity of the drills is not only to target the DPRK but also to contain its surrounding countries by force of arms in order to bring the Northeast Asian region and the rest of the world under its control. This is the U.S. ultimate goal. To defend the world peace, it is necessary to remove the danger of a nuclear war that lingers on the peninsula. To this end, it is prerequisite for the U.S. to roll back its policy of hostility towards the DPRK, sign a peace pact with the latter and withdraw all its nukes and troops from south Korea. It is essential to dismantle all nukes on earth and put a complete end to any nuclear threat to any country. The U.S., which is threatening the DPRK with nukes, should be held responsible for the situation on the peninsula which has not yet been denuclearized. If the U.S. truly wants the peace, it should stop making such ridiculous remarks but behave itself with a proper attitude. |
