Reception Marks Anniversary of DPRK-China Treaty

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association hosted a reception at Okryu Restaurant on Wednesday on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. Present there on invitation were Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai, his embassy officials and other Chinese guests staying in the country. Present there were Minister of Public Health Kang Ha Guk, chairman of the Central Committee of the association, and officials concerned. Kang said in his speech that President Kim Il Sung and Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai signed the treaty 52 years ago, providing a legal basis for steadily developing the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation. To develop these relations generation after generation is the behests of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. He wished the Chinese people success in their efforts for defending the social stability and the sovereignty of the country, attaining the sustained economic development and winning a new victory in the socialist cause with the Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Xi Jinping as its general secretary. Liu Hongcai said that the two countries have supported and closely cooperated with each other in the spirit of the treaty. He sincerely hoped that the Korean people would achieve bigger successes in the work to develop economy and improve people's living standard under the wise guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by First Secretary Kim Jong Un. It is the steadfast stand of the Chinese party and government to steadily develop Sino-DPRK ties of friendship and cooperation, he said, adding: We will together with the DPRK side mutually respect and believe and boost friendly exchange and cooperation and make efforts to promote the long, stable and sound development of the Sino-DPRK relations. |
