In women's 63 kg category on Tuesday Pyon Yong Mi succeeded in lifting 100 kg in snatch and 133 kg in clean-and-jerk. She came top with a total lift of 233 kg, thus setting a new Universiad record.

Earlier, Paek Il Hwa and Cha Kum Chol bagged silver medals in women's 48 kg category and men's 62 kg category respectively while Choe Hyo Sim a bronze medal in women's 58 kg category.
