Present there on invitation were Li Haifeng, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Liu Zhenmin, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, the vice- minister of Culture, Wu Donghe, chairman of the China-Korea Friendship Association, Yang Yanyi, assistant to the head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and other officials concerned.

Present there were Ji Jae Ryong, DPRK ambassador to China, and staff members of his embassy.

The DPRK ambassador recalled that leader Kim Jong Il put on a new high stage the traditional relations of friendship between DPRK and China which President Kim Il Sung provided and developed together with Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.

He said that these relations have grown stronger generation after generation under the deep care of the dear respected Kim Jong Un and the respected Xi Jinping.

The ambassador sincerely wished the fraternal Chinese people greater successes in the efforts to carry out the socialist cause with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Xi Jinping as its general secretary.

The vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference recalled that the conclusion of the treaty 52 years ago from now marked a great event in the history of the relations between the two countries, noting that both sides have helped and closely cooperated with each other on the basis of the spirit of the treaty in the past period.

The two countries are the neighbors linked by the same mountain and rivers and the Sino-DPRK friendship provided and cultivated by the leaders of the elder generation of the two countries is a valuable common asset, he noted.

China will promote the mutual confidence and understanding, steadily supplement and enrich the contents of the bilateral friendship and thus put spurs to the sustained, sound and stable development of the relations between the two countries in the spirit of inheriting the tradition, facing up to the future and strengthening good neighborly friendship and cooperation with the Korean comrades, he concluded.
