Four Large Rivers Project Termed Charade
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- CBS of South Korea on Thursday termed the project for improving four large rivers pushed forward by the Lee Myung Bak regime as the "most important state policy" a burlesque for building a large canal, an artifice to deceive the people.

The Board of Audit and Inspection on Wednesday made public the results of the survey which said that the project has been pressed ahead with by expending money to the tune of 22.2 trillion won collected from the people as taxes under the signboard of building a canal from its outset, the CBS reported, and went on:

According to the results, the Lee regime officially suspended the construction of the large canal in June 2008 under the ever-increasing public pressure, but the scale of the project has been excessively increased under the pretext of building the canal from the planning phase.

A working department submitted a report aimed to build a large canal to Lee Myung Bak and he directly instructed building the canal 5-6 meters deep.

The "government" was aware of the swindles on the part of construction companies from the course of tender but connived at them due to the nexus between the "government" and those companies. The Fair Trade Commission discovered this fact but did not open it to public over one year at the instruction of Chongwadae but sided with construction companies in such a way as meting out light punishment to them.

In this regard, broad spectrum of people are becoming increasingly critical of Lee Myung Bak's hypocrisy, the CBS noted.
