Rodong Sinmun Terms U.S. Disturber of Peace and Reunification

Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- U.S. Congress recently tabled a "resolution" on "praying for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula" with the 60th anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement as a momentum. The "resolution" says "nuclear weapons of north Korea are the biggest hurdle" lying in the way of the peace and reunification of the peninsula. Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes in an article in this regard: This is an unpardonable insult to the Korean nation which has longed for reunification for decades and sophism to evade the blame for the division of the peninsula. The U.S. is describing nuclear weapons of the DPRK as hurdles lying in the way of peace and reunification of the peninsula which, when seen from the reversed way, means that Pyongyang's nuclear weapons are the biggest hurdles lying in the way of realizing its criminal scenario for igniting a war against the DPRK anytime by keeping hold on south Korea for an indefinite period. Peace has been maintained in the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region because the DPRK has the great Songun politics and strong physical deterrent no enemy dares provoke. If the U.S. is truly interested in peace and reunification of the peninsula, it should make a bold decision to withdraw its forces from south Korea, the forces which are the biggest hurdles, to begin with. |
