It is the unanimous desire and will of the service personnel and people of the DPRK to glorify the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war as a great festival of victors by performing heroic feats in the showdown with the U.S. and in building a thriving nation under the wise leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, the editorial notes, and goes on:

To grandly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the war victory is a work of weighty importance to firmly defend and preserve and fully demonstrate the immortal exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by winning the victory in the war.

The President performed undying exploits for the country and nation, the era and humankind by defeating U.S. imperialism which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world and bringing about a victory in the war. The high dignity and invincible might of the DPRK shedding its rays throughout the world, the worthy life led by its people and their rosy future would have been unthinkable without his exploits. To preserve and add glory to his exploits is a noble obligation and bounden duty of the people who are living in the socialist homeland of Juche which was protected by him.

With July 27, the day of the war victory, drawing closer, the more profound thanks are expressed to the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il by the service personnel and people throughout the country from the capital city Pyongyang to a far-flung island posts. And more successful arrangements are made to add shine to the exploits of Kim Il Sung.

By significantly and grandly celebrating the war victory day this year, the service personnel and people of the DPRK will instill confidence and optimism into the world people aspiring after independence and deal sledge-hammer blows at the imperialists.
