Disbandment of IS Called for

Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- As known, the south Korean Intelligence Service (IS) was hell-bent on building up public opinion and staging smear campaign during the last "presidential elections" by putting in motion psychological warfare agents for the extension of the then conservative regime. When the disclosure of this fact touched off ruling crisis, it made public the minutes of the north-south summit to divert the public attention to the issue of the "northern limit line". Rodong Sinmun Monday in a commentary brands the IS's act of interfering in the "presidential elections" and making public the minutes as illegal politically-motivated hooliganism and an act violating democracy. The IS has been engaged in deceiving the public and causing political turmoil in alignment with the conservative ruling forces to serve its sordid political purposes, the paper says, stressing that this vicious challenge to democracy of south Korean society can never be tolerated. It will not be possible to check the revival of the "yusin" dictatorship nor to achieve national reconciliation and unity as long as IS is allowed to lord it over playing the role of a bridesmaid of the dictatorial ruler, the paper notes, adding: It is the requirement of the times and unanimous will of the south Koreans to have the IS disbanded. The south Korean authorities are trumpeting about the "reform of the IS" but this is just a deception to calm down the angered public and cover up the truth of the cases. The south Korean ruling forces can never shirk off the responsibility no matter what a sleight of hand it may employ as it is a chief accomplice directly related to the IS's interference in "presidential elections" and the minutes case. No one can check the righteous struggle of south Koreans to have the den of plot-breeding disbanded and bring about the bright morning of independent reunification to democratized society. |
