Functional Food Made with Kaesong Insam

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The Jangsu Insam Processing Factory under the Korea Jangsu Trading Corporation produces different kinds of health food with insam (ginseng) cultivated in Kaesong area. Among them are food made with mixtures of rice and steamed and dried insam as well as food made with mixtures of flour and insam. Only six-year-old insam is useful for the food. Coated with insam extracts, the rice is good for relieving fatigue, enhancing immunity and preventing diseases. The flour helps prevent human body from being affected by electromagnetism and radioactive rays. Especially, it is helpful for recovery after surgery. With the flour, one can cook noodle, bread, fry and pancake. Their absorption rates are over 90 percent. It gives no adverse effect on human body. Kaesong insam contains nutrients, including insam saponin, sugar, essential oil, amino acid, peptide, organic mineral matters, microelements and vitamins. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) decided to award inventors of the flour certificates of top inventors and medals in April 2013. |
