The preparatory committees were organized on a nationwide scale in Nepal, Pakistan, Benin, Romania, Nigeria and Denmark. A preparatory committee comprising people of various circles and preparatory committees of Nakhodka City, the Korean War Veterans' Council and the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association were formed in Russia.

Present at inaugural ceremonies were leaders of progressive political parties including the Baath Arab Socialist Party of Syria, Ukrainian Communist Party, Nepal Communist Party (United Marxist-Leninist), Socialist Party of Benin, Socialist Party of Romania, Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar and the Communist Party of Democratic Congo.

Famous personages of governments, political parties, organizations and regional organizations were elected chairpersons of the preparatory committees.

They included the department director of the Ugandan presidency, chairman of the Central Council of the People Unity-"Kyrgyz El" Republican Political Party, secretary general of the National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Belarus-DPRK National Friend Association Named After Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, chairman of the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association and the chairman of the Ecuadorian Committee for Supporting Korea's Independent and Peaceful Reunification.

The committees at the inaugural ceremonies underscored the significance of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War and discussed and decided on the issue of raising voices for solidarity with socialist Korea which is unswervingly advancing in the van of the anti-imperialist struggle today when the imperialists have become rampant in aggression moves and arbitrariness.

The preparatory committees are conducting activities to significantly celebrate July 27, the victory day of the Korean people, who are frustrating every move of the imperialist allied forces against the DPRK with the might of Songun.

Colorful functions are taking place in different countries.

They included meetings, seminars, round-table talks, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and film shows in China, Russia, Nepal, Peru and Germany and by international and regional organizations.
