This realized the greatest desire of the teachers and students of the university and all public security men and servicepersons of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.

The statue depicts smiling Kim Jong Il in a plain wadded dress who paid endless visits to forefront units for defending the country and construction sites, wisely leading all service personnel and people to win a final victory.

A ceremony of unveiling the statue took place on July 19.

The statue was unveiled by Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and rector of the university Kim Chang Il.

Placed before the statue was a floral basket in the name of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Laid before it then were floral baskets in the joint name of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet and in the joint name of the Ministry of People's Security and the Political Bureau of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.

All the participants paid tribute to the statue in the humblest reverence.

Minister of People's Security Choe Pu Il in his address noted that the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il provided a guarantee for making it possible for the university to creditably perform its mission and duty as a pedigree institution training backbone elements preserving its revolutionary character and firmly protecting the security of the social system, the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks and the life and properties of the people in each grim period.

He said that only victory and glory are in store for the Korean people under the leadership of the great Songun commander, calling on everybody to get united close around Kim Jong Un to turn out in the struggle to achieve a final victory in the showdown with the U.S. and building a thriving nation.

Then guards of honor of the Ground Force, Navy and Air and Anti-Air Force of the Korean People's Army and the Worker-Peasant Red Guards marched past the statue.
