Pyongyang July 19 (KCNA) -- The spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) on Friday gave the following answer to a question put by KCNA refuting the misinformation released by Chosun Ilbo, anti-DPRK conspiratorial paper, to hurt the dignity of its supreme leadership, at the prodding of the south Korean puppet regime: The whole country is now alive with preparations to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War as a grand festival of victors and the world's attention is focused on Pyongyang. It is against this backdrop that Chosun Ilbo dared float sheer misinformation hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK. On July 18 the reptile newspaper released such nonsensical story that Pyongyang is going to invite Western media for interviews on the occasion of the diamond jubilee and asking them to pay a million dollars for them. In order to make its false story sound plausible, the paper made clumsy excuses that "it is based on a source well informed of the situation inside the north" and the like. This is nothing but poor trumpeting which can be made only by base and wicked hack journalists who prolong their remaining days through anti-DPRK smear campaign after being reduced to waiting maids for those in power. This is no more than a last-ditch shrilling cry of those taken aback by the might of the DPRK in which all service personnel and people are glorifying the proud history of the victory in the war, working fresh miracles and bringing about a leap forward, united as one around the great leader. As far as Chosun Ilbo is concerned, it had long been derided and censured by world people for its ill fame as the paper speaking for the ultra-right conservatives. Only such cock-and-bull story can be heard from those insane guys keen on hatching plots against the DPRK. Nobody in the world would lend an ear to the rubbish told by such paper. The DPRK will certainly settle accounts with those defamers of the dignity of its supreme leadership and the anti-DPRK tricksters will have to pay a dear price for their crimes. No matter how desperately the south Korean puppet regime may sling mud at the DPRK through such hack papers as Chosun Ilbo, it will exalt its dignity and might more strikingly along with the fireworks to be displayed on the war victory day. |
