Korean People's Victory in War Observed by Foreign Papers
Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers carried special write-ups to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The Egyptian paper Al Ahrar on July 8 carried an article under the title "Day of the victory of the Korean people" illustrated with a photo of President Kim Il Sung.

The paper said that the U.S. was compelled to sign the armistice agreement which was little short of a surrender paper on July 27, 1953.

When sighs and sorrows were growing in the U.S. due to the heavy defeat in the war, fireworks were displayed to celebrate the victory and victors broke into rousing cheers in the DPRK.

July 27 is recorded in the history as a day of victory for the Korean people as they defeated the U.S. which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world.

The July issue of the British paper Proletarian in an article titled "60th anniversary of victory in the Korean war" said that the DPRK had access to nuclear deterrent for self-defence to cope with the U.S. constant war threat.

This is a powerful means to guarantee peace not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in the rest of Asia, it said.

The Cambodian newspaper Kmae Amata on July 10 carried an article under the title "Justice triumphs" illustrated with a photo of Kim Il Sung.

The paper said that the nuclear deterrence of the DPRK is a means for just self-defense to cope with the U.S. evermore pronounced hostile policy and its nuclear threat and a treasured sword of justice for defending the sovereignty of the country and the nation and the world peace.

It went on:

The world people who love justice and progress are supporting the Korean people who are struggling against the U.S. engrossed in high-handed and arbitrary practices and its allied forces.

The victory is in store for the Korean people all out to defend their sovereignty.

Justice is sure to triumph.
