Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- 128 teachers of Seoul National University held a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday at which they made public a declaration on the situation calling on the regime to conduct a thoroughgoing investigation into the Intelligence Service (IS) interference in the "presidential election". They in the declaration branded such act as an unpardonable crime. They also noted that opening to public the 2007 minutes of the inter-Korean summit by the IS was another illegal action. The declaration noted that the ceaseless issue of declarations on the situation by people from all walks of life and the candlelight rallies being staged in different parts of south Korea indicate that the issues of probing the truth about the IS's illegal interference in the election and the punishment of those involved in the action are an urgent demand of the times. Those teachers said that they respond to the calls of all south Korean people desirous of democracy, adding: The IS's meddling in the election was a serious criminal action. The "National Assembly" should make an investigation into the action and probe the truth about it at an early date, they noted, and went on: The prosecution should conduct a thoroughgoing investigation into those who were involved in planning and carrying out the operation and punish all of them. The former chief of the Seoul District Police Agency and others who tried to play down the truth about the case should be severely punished. |
