Korean Social Scientists in Japan Mark Day of Victory in War
Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- A seminar of Korean social scientists in Japan took place at the Korean Publishing House in Tokyo on Friday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (Korean War).

Present at the seminar were Pae Ik Ju, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon); Han Tong Song, director of the Department for Publicity and Culture; Kim Hwa Hyo, chairman of the Korean Social Scientists Association in Japan, and members of the association, leading officials of Chongryon organizations and enterprises, teachers of Korea University, Chongryon officials and other Koreans in Kanto area.

Speakers said that the Armistice Agreement has lasted for six decades owing to the U.S. seeking the permanent division of the Korean Peninsula and it has thrown a stumbling block in the way of meeting the interests of the Korean nation and the effort of the DPRK to build a thriving socialist nation.

The U.S. listed the DPRK as a target of its preemptive nuclear attack and has persistently pursued a hostile policy towards it including anti-DPRK military drills and economic sanctions, they said, adding:

The conclusion of a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S. will be of great significance in world history in the sense that it will mean a final settlement of the issue of the Korean Peninsula and a genuine end of the Cold War and mark a final occasion of collapse of the "U.S. domination system".

They reiterated their will to remain true to the leadership of Kim Jong Un, who is victoriously leading the final standoff with the U.S., and work hard to perform the historic mission of struggling alongside the people in the homeland.
