Letter to Kim Jong Un from Participants in Meeting of Overseas Koreans
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting of overseas Koreans supporting the peace on the Korean Peninsula.

In the letter, the participants expressed support for the proposal of the DPRK to hold high-level talks between the authorities of the DPRK and the U.S. to defuse the tension on the peninsula and ensure peace and stability in the region.

They paid the highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who dedicated their noble lives to the struggle for achieving the country's reunification and peace and stability on the peninsula.

They said they are of the view that it is a just way of protecting the sovereignty and independence of the DPRK to steadily bolster up the defense capability while further developing the economic potential of the DPRK to improve the wellbeing of the Korean people.

They expressed their resolution to always stand by the people in the homeland in their efforts to bring earlier the country's reunification and ensure peace on the peninsula and get louder voices demanding the conclusion of a peace treaty heard in different parts of the world.
