Paeksong Revolutionary Site Draws Endless Stream of Visitors

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- A large number of people have visited the Paeksong Revolutionary Site on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War. President Kim Il Sung stayed in Paeksong-ri in April, Juche 41 (1952), instilling into teachers and students of Kim Il Sung University confidence in victory and clearly indicating the way for the university to follow and a prospect for postwar rehabilitation and construction. He made a historic speech "The Prospects of the Fatherland Liberation War and the Tasks of the University" before its teachers and students. He told them to conduct researches for postwar rehabilitation and construction, unearth and ascertain historical data and cultural treasures of Korea and train many able native cadres. He gave a precious instruction to all students to study hard in the same spirit as displayed on the front in response to the slogan "Study also means a battle!" before having a photo taken with them. The visitors presented bunches of flowers to his statue in the site before paying tribute to him. They made the rounds of the Paeksong Revolutionary Museum, the house where he had a talk, the main building of the university, dining room for students, dormitory of the Korean literature faculty, a farmer's house and so on. |
