Kim Il Sung Takes Van of Sacred War
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- During the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953), President Kim Il Sung always found himself in the frontline area to lead the war to victory.

One day in July Juche 39 (1950) Kim Il Sung left for the Front Command in Seoul by jeep

The car reached the entrance to a bridge over the River Rimjin. But it could not cross the bridge because it was severed by the enemy's air bombing.

Kim Il Sung urged the driver to go across the river through the nearby railway bridge so as to lose no time to arrive in Seoul.

Upon his arrival in the Front Command, he taught detailed ways for smoothly implementing the operational plans for the first stage of the war and looked after the life of the servicepersons and Seoul citizens.

At the end of July, he went even to Suanbo, the foremost front, to personally command operations.

His inspection tours of frontline areas encouraged the servicepersons to perform heroic feats in battles against the enemy.
