Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- 47 075 people were awarded Order Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War in the DPRK. They are anti-Japanese fighters, war veterans and persons of merit who performed undying feats during the war and made big contributions to building a thriving nation after the war. A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly was adopted on July 10. The brave soldiers of the Korean People's Army and people made great contributions to winning a shining victory in the war by fully displaying matchless popular heroism and patriotism on the front and in the rear with the firm belief that the DPRK would surely win as it was led by President Kim Il Sung. In the post-war period, too, the war veterans and merited persons have rendered great services for defending the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation and hastening socialist construction, foiling all the moves of the U.S. imperialists to ignite a war under the Songun leadership of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The decree says that the war veterans and merited persons who fought at the risk of their lives for the country and posterity are precious treasure of the country and benefactors and there is prosperity thanks to them. |
