Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- A celebration meeting was held in Serbia, a lecture in Russia and a seminar and a film show in Nigeria on July 18 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War. Present there were figures of various social strata and other people in the above-said countries. "Arms of Korea" was screened at the film show. The general secretary of the New Yugoslav Communist Party said as follows: The U.S. imperialists tried to bring the Korean people on their knees by all means including the use of germ and chemical weapons and the mobilization of troops of their satellite countries and the south Korean puppet army in the Korean war. But the Korean people defeated the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, an iron-willed commander and outstanding strategist and thus energetically encouraged the world oppressed people in their struggle for national liberation against imperialism. If the U.S. dares ignite the second Korean war, far from drawing a lesson from the past days, it will meet a worse defeat. The chairman of the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association of Russia praised Kim Il Sung as father of the Korean nation who defeated Japanese imperialism and achieved Korea's liberation, a great leader who shattered the U.S. aggression and its followers in the early 1950's and defended the dignity of the country and nation, and a peerlessly brilliant commander who developed the KPA into an invincible and formidable army. The chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Juche Philosophy said the DPRK's army and people continue their confrontation with the U.S., noting that the progressive people support the Korean people resolutely standing against the U.S. and its followers hell-bent on the high-handed and tyrannical practice. |
