An awarding ceremony took place in Berlin on July 20.

The order and certificate were conveyed to the DPRK ambassador to Germany.

The certificate said:

The Standing Committee of the centre awards the gold order "Star of International Friendship" to Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, who has performed extraordinary exploits in promoting the understanding and humanity between the peoples and in defending peace.

The chairman of the centre said that President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il won in the struggle against the hostile forces' all sorts of arbitrary practices in the whole period of leading the Korean revolution, pursuing the politics of independence, Songun politics.

The centre paid tribute to Kim Jong Un, who has completely contained the U.S. and reliably defended the world peace and security by creditably carrying forward the political mode of the preceding leaders, and decided to award the order, wishing him greater success in his future work, he added.
