Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Naegumgang (Inner Kumgang) Revolutionary Site is located in the scenic Mt. Kumgang of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. A sanatorium of the Front Command was situated in Naegumgang in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953). Barracks, mess hall and a spring site are preserved in its original state. As the war dragged on, President Kim Il Sung, on May 25, Juche 40 (1951), took a measure to set up a sanatorium there for soldiers. On October 2, 1952, he went to the sanatorium to learn about the living conditions of the resters. He touched a soldier's wounded leg with his hand and hoped that he would recover from the wound during the rest. He dropped in a kitchen, asking the cooks to make various kinds of tasty dishes for soldiers. He requested officials of the sanatorium to pay deep attention to the soldiers' life before leaving the sanatorium. |
