As known, the puppet regime searched offices of the south headquarters by hurling the Intelligence Service and the Security Investigation Group and arrested its deputy secretary general and the director of the external cooperation on June 26. Recently it put into custody the acting chairman of the headquarters and a member of its organization committee.

It also held trials of the permanent representative and three others of the Youth and students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, creating a terror-ridden atmosphere.

The recent acts clearly prove that the regime is working with blood-shot eyes to stamp out the south headquarters which takes the lead in the struggle for the independence, peace and reunification of the nation.

The hideous acts of sycophancy and submission, moves for confrontation with fellow countrymen and unpopular rule by the puppet regime have seriously ruined the livelihood of the people.

The south Koreans' wrath are running sky-high and the candlelight of resistance flare up in different parts of south Korea, pushing the present regime into a tight corner.

It is against this backdrop that the regime is stirring up the insane whirlwind of suppressing pro-reunification movement organizations and arresting pro-reunification figures in a bid to check the south Koreans' backlash and tide over the ruling crisis.

The situation proves that the dark era of "yusin" fascist dictatorship, in which those who uttered even a word of reunification were thrown into prison being subject to execution, has come again.

No matter how desperately the ruling forces may try, they can never stem the just struggle of the south Koreans for independent reunification and democracy.
