Papers Mark War Victory Day
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of the DPRK editorially mark the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Rodong Sinmun says that the brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung was a historic event that provided a landmark for an epochal turn in hewing out the destiny of the country and the nation and accomplishing the human cause of independence.

The victory in the Korean War helped the world look up to Kim Il Sung as the greatest commander and the DPRK has demonstrated its might as heroic Korea which brought about the beginning of ruin for the U.S. imperialists for the first time in history, the paper says, and continues:

The DPRK's victory in the war was a shining result of the Juche-oriented military idea, strategy and tactics and outstanding commanding art of Kim Il Sung.

The victory was attributable to the strong spirit for defending the country and popular heroism of the service personnel and people of the DPRK united close around Kim Il Sung.

His exploits for the war victory are unprecedented in history for their rich contents, profundity and influence on the development of the times and history. As they won a victory in the war, the army and people of the DPRK honorably defended the sovereignty of the nation and gains of revolution they achieved in the anti-Japanese armed struggle and paved a wide avenue of building socialism. They have immensely strengthened the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks centering on the leader, ushered in the era of a new swing in the struggle against imperialism and the U.S. and firmly defended global peace and security. Herein lies the great historic significance of the victory in the war.

Minju Joson says that the undying feats of Kim Il Sung who made great contributions to the cause of independence of the country and the people and the human cause of independence will shine forever.
